Playing Possums

Far Far Away is written in the style of the slow Air found in traditional Irish music.

The pensive main theme is shared throughout between upper & lower voices, and builds to a heartfelt conclusion with all instruments playing their own independent melody line.

The piece is built on a 3-note descending scale and is a good preparation for the D & G major scales.

With the tempo marked Espressivo, this piece encourages players to focus on a sustained bow and warm tone.
