Big Top is a spirited piece on open strings and is very suitable for the beginner student learning to play with the bow.

String crossings on alternate bows allow students to experience bow crossing at both frog and tip of the bow.

The paired quavers may be played on the string with a firm stroke or, if preferred, with a bow lift on the second note.

Big Top is written in Ternary Form with a Call & Response structure in the middle section.
