May the Rains fall Soft
This piece takes its inspiration from the traditional Irish blessing, “May the Road Rise Up to Meet You”, a poem wishing loved ones good luck and fortune on their journey through life.
Written in a moderately slow tempo, “May the Rains fall Soft” lends itself to expressive playing through a musical dialogue between the parts. With harmony that is rich and warm and a continuous flow of melody and inner voices, players have plenty of opportunities to develop tone, bow control, position work, vibrato and musicality.
